Emily Udell
Emily Udell is an itinerant journalist who has reported for the Daily Southtown newspaper in southwest Chicago, the Associated Press in Indianapolis and Radio Prague in the Czech Republic. She was co-host of In These Times’ monthly radio show “Fire on the Prairie.”

Emily was a field researcher and organizer for the Independent Press Association of Chicago, and helped create the first guide to independent, community and ethnic press in Chicago. She also worked as an editorial associate at the national news and culture magazine Punk Planet. Emily was a McCormick Tribune scholar at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She has contributed to In These Times, Punk Planet, Free Speech Radio News and various local Chicago print and online newspapers.
