Coalition Needed For Common Interests

Eighth Avenue south of Madison Square Garden on Sept. 1 blooms with union colors: kelly green for the city workers’ DC 37, gold and navy blue for the electricians’ IBEW Local 3, purple for the janitors’ SEIU Local 32BJ, and red for the academic professors’ Professional Staff Congress union. A band called the Bushwackers—“the pride of Local 802”—plays ‘70s soul… return to article

I think it’s funny to see the sardonic references to anarchists, “anarchists” rather.  The reason young people such as myself are turning toward the principles of anarchism is the total lack of any moral compass, of communal values, of solidarity, and community in the Establishment.  The Republicrats don’t represent the values of young leftists (or old leftists).  It’s a joke that our “democratic” choice for president is between one skull-and-boner and another.  The system is bankrupt.  The IMF, Wall Street, Congress and the rest of the corrupt goons bent on pillaging the world’s wealth are spreading paralyzing debt, the destruction of self-sufficiency (especially in regards to domestic agricultural production of food), and toxic corporate waste.  It is not a world to admire or a power structure anyone with an ounce of the truth in their minds and a sense of right and wrong in their hearts would ever wish to be a part of.  It must be destroyed.
    in solidarity,
    R.

I live in a predominantly republican county in a predominantly democratic state, and for the life of me,I can’t begin to understand how people can be so blind to not see how we are being led around by the nose by corporations that control all of our options by purchasing our representatives loyalty. There is no such thing as corporate personhood, And I think that there are some supreme court justices that need to be impeached. Individuals don’t stand a chance against corporate megabucks. Ralph Nader is the only guy that makes any sense, and the corporate duopoly monster won’t let most of us hear his message. I hope it’s not too late, shackles and leg irons can’t be too far behind.
