Great article!  But I’m amazed/puzzled by the “Gooooogle” ads in the right-hand-sidebar:  they’re almost all for Bush or conservative causes!?  Why?

Because Gooogle matches the ad to the content of the article…since GWB is mentioned several times (and note RReagan is mentioned at least once) you can see the ads which are matched to the article are based on this “fuzzy logic” and not the content or philosophy of the Article.

I have to say, if the Zioniists and the Christian Zionist (an odd concept, at best), the Preznit and his slack-jawed, kool-aid swilling followers are God’s chosen people, Hell is looking better all the time.

Hard though it may be to admit, for one who has pracriced non-violence since Vietnam, I sometimes think I might get into a fist fight before this is all over. The hell of it is, I am not sure it ever will be.

These two books by people I admire are another phalanx of facts damning our present predicament…and that is laudable, admirable, and necessary because they will undoubtedly enlighten some people in this country still too immobilized by the fear tactics of this regime.  As for the hordes of, “America, love her or leave her”, types, only the reality of their children, grandchildren, and other close relations goose-stepping into endless wars, the human-flesh chimney stacks spewing the cremated remains of those deemed sub-human night and day, the sight of barbed wire, penetentiary-like enclosures surrounding rows upon rows of barracks for those about to die, I say, only sights such as these and others just as chilling reminding them of very recent historical precedents will finally wake them up to what this government and its policies are now legislating and initiating.

Leo Strauss, Wolfowitz’s guru would be proud of the state of our Union now.  Fascism has finally married the state to its corporate subsidizers and the neo-liberal and/or conservative - predicted continued apathy, indifference, disbelief of glaring social realities, and crimestop abhorrence of facing that reality…will serve to further concretize and strengthen this edifice of war for profit rulership.

And the unique, unprecedented peril represented by this regime’s complete disregard for the environmental destruction it supports coupled with the weapons of mass destruction of all varieties at its disposal only accentuate the fact that the world is running out of time and cannot support a rehashing of the history of European fascism.  Sounds like these literary offerings by Kennedy and Hersch cannot have come at a more escathalogically threatening moment in history.  Let’s hope they become the informative equivalent of a critical mass that will finally awaken this somnambulisat, soporific state of mind I find so many to be victims of.
