I hope Kurt makes it for another 81 years. He is an American treasure.

I love you Kurt Vonnegut.

Hey, some of those Cleveland cops that Kurt Vonnegut mentioned as being laid off have been hired for the Cincinnati police force. I guess the Cincinnati police needed to import help to kill more black men and create more bad publicity for the city, as if they haven’t already gotten the City of Cincinnati enough. C’est la vie.

congratulations kurt!!! you are the 38747482nd person to make the bush, dick and colon joke!!!!!

As usual, Mr. Vonnegut, your prose is witty, well-crafted and thought provoking. I wonder if Bush, Dick and Colon feel provoked. How about Rummy? How does one best provoke a tyrant? As for Brown & Williamson: A paragon of American Corporate virtue.

I adore you, Kurt Vonnegut. I promise that when those Pall Malls due their job, I will be one to say, “Kurt is up in heaven, now.”

I was told it was trash and was banned from the place ..I was going to a rightwing site and was verbally abused but never deleted or banned ...Needless to say I am politically confused at this point hahahaha…Kurt is a funny hero (the best kind) to me, and any elitist that cant handle him I dont have time for anyway… PEACE

$59.95 for a two year subscription
but I have not received any issue for the past 3 months. I do get
requests to renew. Frustrating!!

Mr. Vonnegut,
I forone would love to hear you expound on the concept of: “Where were those fighter planes on September 11?”

Thanks, my perspective is that your talent is making readers feel sane for dealing with this messed-up thing we all love and hate.
May the Universe continue to bless itself - through You!!

I heard a comedian comment on the fact that only young children refer to their ages with numbers that end in, “and a half”. I guess this is one of the ways that the old revert back to childish habits!
Many more halves to you, Mr. Vonnegut. They’re better than halve-nots!

Montana Wildhack. Conjured up, literally, and in relative terms of slaughter, we get “Radical Protestant Millenarianism.” 1492…advertised as the year people began living full and imaginative lives in North America. In reality however, without the filter of nationalism and religion, we can clearly see that 1492 was instead, the year when radical protestant sea pirates armed with eschatology and superior weapons, began a four century crusade of genocide and cultural ridicule. Along with the Indian went the great herds of buffalo - all hacked into oblivion and regarded today, as a once fanciful notion of living in peace and harmony with nature.
Utopia or oblivion?: a Fullerism suggesting the outcome of which, decided by relay race (or, last straw, for all you “ladykiller’s”). And so it is that come November—this could be our last stand.

Michael Coppel,
You’re surprised both K.V. and Noam haven’t been assassinated yet? Are you meaning because of their bold honesty or because you’d like to see them both succumb to that fate?
Just wondering.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Mr Vonnegut. You provide a whisper of sanity in a shouting mad world. You are a national treasure and I will always be in your debt.
If any other readers of In These Times have yet to discover “Sirens Of Titan”, “Slapstick”, “Cat’s Cradle”, “Fates Worse Than Death”, “God Bless You Mr. Rosewater” or any of his other books do yourself a favor and run to a library.
