I’m 19 years old and go to planned parenthood myself for birth control.  I can honestly say that if it wasn’t for Planned Parenthood and the very reasonable cost I wouldn’t beable to have check-ups and exams or even birth control.  I’ve been on my own since I was 16, and didn’t know anything about the risk of having unprotected sex, or about STDs.  A friend of mine who went to Planned Parenthood told me I should go there to get my exam and get checked out since I had never even had an exam before and was way pass due.  I was surprised that I didn’t have to pay anything and me not having health insurance even mattered.  All they were concerned about was my health, and that made me feel really good.  I learned a lot about myself and the consequences of having sex.  I decided to get birth control for my own safety and really do feel a little more secure with the knowledge Planned Parenthood provided for me.  I think it was an excellent idea to bring forth an organization like this to help teens like myself with the protection and knowledge we all deserve to have and know.
