I am 56 years old. When I was in elementary school we had weekly air raid drills. At 12:00 PM on Wednesdays the alarm would sound in Philadelphia, PA. We all had to kneel under our desks, Crouch into almost a fetal position and wrap our hands around our heads as if this would do anything to save us in the event of a nuclear war. I think the idea really was that we would be calm until we blew up so the nuns didn’t have to worry about leaving us alone while they were hiding in the bomb shelter under the church!

Throughout my entire life there has always been a reason to live in fear. So, I am concerned but I’ve worried enough. What I am concerned about is why,  after all this time, do our leaders still want to and and still try to control us with fear.

I am more concerned about global warming, world health as well as world hunger. But, if they blow us up, I won’t have to worry about these issues either.

The only people who may be around to worry will be on the space station. I wonder if they’ll spend their remaining days arguing about whose fault it is?
