I’ll admit it: I used to admire John McCain. To paraphrase the UFO poster from “The X Files,” I wanted to believe. Specifically, I wanted to believe the guy talking tough about campaign finance reform was committed to getting money out of politics. What about Obama’s vote on the 2005 energy bill?  He has registered lobbyists working for him, what about that?  Do you really think Obama will actually go with public funding in the general election?  What about money he’s gotten in the same manner the other candidates have from the oil industry and subprime lenders?  What about his public support of the Peru Free Trade agreement?  What about his support of the class action bill ?  What about his being OK with credit card interest rates surpassing 30%?  What about his conveniently missing the Kyle-Lieberman vote?  What was he talking about when he said last weekend he wanted to take this country back to the foreign policy traditions of George Sr. and Ronald Reagan?  What about Obama makes him any better than either CLinton or McCain?

Why doesn’tt FOX do a ‘flip-flop’ routine on McCain like they did to Kerry in 2003-04??? Oh right, he’s on the wrong side to be dissed by talking-heads of ‘right-wing corporate media networking rhetoric.’

From my view outside your border, the entire political exercise is a farce. What freedom, what democracy??? Yep, a big fat farce.
