Tyson workers and community demand more than ‘chicken feed’

By Ricky Baldwin

Visitors passing through Wisconsin on their way to Madison or Milwaukee might happen into a dense forest of billboards and yard signs called Jefferson. This farmland town of less than 8,000 is up in arms, fighting off a corporate assault that threatens its existence. And it’ [RETURN TO ARTICLE]

I thought the “E-Mail” invitation was to send the article E-Mail to someone else.

Comment: Good example of cause for the Workers to OWN the means of production.  Not the State, Not the Corporations, but the Workers…who would share in the profits.  What is YOUR comment to that idea?

Great article on a company whose dangerous excesses are well-documented but unfortunately not well known.

It is the American family that ineivitable pays for such greed. . . This is not Communist Russia 1987, and food processors above all have an obligation to make sure that their working conditions and products are safe.

Good luck and best wishes to the families if Jefferson! If a movie or a book does come out of this mess to highlight the issue, it would be a perfect job for Michael Moore.

My son just had to except employment at Wal-Mart recently, due to shortage of work in his area. He had to travel an hour to get there and an hour to get back, for 6.00 per hour.  I did a little research to discover the Profits of Wal-Mart, and each Family Member of Wal-Mart has around 25 Billion in their pocket.
The Point is anytime a Corporation makes this kind of Profit, that means the Workers are starving, enslaved, and poor and struggling.
The Health Care Issue needs to be dealt with on a National Level, I am not sure Tyson can be held accountable for 700.00 a month payments.  Insurance companies along with Medical Personal must find a solution and fast.  We are dying out here without CARE, that every American in intitled to.
TYSON, is just another Slave Master on the List.  And the list is growing.
God Save America Should be in every front lawn, on every building, because LIFE in America is being destroyed.  Families have already been destroyed.  What more do they want out of us???
I have a deep saddness for every child born in today’s Society.  It has become a Sad LIFE for all.
Tyson Employee’s are getting a lot more than MOST, and not everything they SHOULD be getting.
What happened to the STRENGTH and POWER of the UNIONS???

Tyson screws over everybody.  That’s how they make all that money.  I should know.  I used to work for them for a lot of years.  If you want to see what kind of business Tyson runs, come to http://cyberactivist.blogspot.com

    Re: Strike

If the committee would get a PayPal account, I think a lot of people would join me in sending a contribution.

I was in the frozen foods section today and found a new chicken product that looked pretty good. But it was Tyson and I thought about this article and the worker’s plight and decided against it.
I know it’s not much but I hope everyone else does the same.
