  I am surprised that Sheppard is still referring to “global warming”.  The new phrase is “climate change”, and “climate change” is the current usage by both Al Gore and Barack Obama.  “Global warming” is as outdated as Y2K.

  There has been no net global warming since 1998, and there has been emphatic global cooling for the last eighteen months, co-existent with a sudden lack of sunspot activity.  Since global cooling inconsiderately and unaccountably does not fit into Gore’s specious hypothesis on global warming, Gore could not very well continue pretending things were getting warmer when the thermometer was saying that it was in fact getting cooler.  Consequently: climate change.  Now, if it rains, aha, climate change.  If it does not rain, aha, climate change.  If there is a hurricane, aha, climate change.  If there is no hurricane, aha, climate change. One would think that there was no rain, no lack of rain, no hurricanes, no lack of hurricanes, no temperate weather, no extreme weather, and no other weather events at all until Al Gore discovered climate change, to hear him tell it.

  We have millions of years of history on the earth’s climate and atmosphere.  When the earth warms up, CO2 atmospheric levels increase, as the oceans off-gas their massive content of CO2.  As the earth cools down, CO2 is absorbed and retained by the oceans, and the level of atmospheric CO2 is reduced.  The anthropogenic effect is minor.

  Socialists are not seeking scientific rigor in any sphere, they are seeking power and control.  It is always thus.  Global warming was a promising artifact to scare the bejesus out of the proles, and Gore rode it for all it was worth for as long as he could, but now he will have to find another vehicle for his ambitions.  So sad.
