The War We Won’t Talk About

By Salim Muwakkil

The war on drugs has gotten little traction during this presidential campaign. The last time it was even mentioned was during the Republican debate in September 2007 at Morgan State University in Baltimore, when Republican candidate Rep. Ron Paul (Texas) spoke of its inordinate toll on the black community. “I think inner-city folks and minorities are punished unfairly in the war… return to article

Yes, Salim Muwakkil!  The statistics reveal that racism is epidemic in the drug war.  And…

Considering these facts: Obama and Palin admit to having used marijuana when younger, the McCain’s wealth comes from alcohol drug dealing, Mrs. McCain’s past drug problems and America has become the most incarcerated nation in history; why isn’t drug law reform for nonviolent users a top issue in this election year?

When will ethics rule in America? The Spirit of ‘76 was the Holy Spirit and is our true North.  http://mccoolportraits.com/TrueHistory.htm

The real visionaries, who laid down our laws, those who defined what an American patriot would be, were rebels with just cause. They made it not just our right but our patriotic duty to rebel against big government corruption. It was revolutionary, a giant step away from tyranny! Our founders knew big government would always mean a gang of evildoers.

One of my 2008 Rebel with Just Cause Awards goes to Dr. Ron Paul for the Love Revolution he helped generate that is sweeping America, returning us to our roots of self-government, free of tyranny and big government oppression.

Congressman Paul recommends we vote for the third party candidate we most agree with; anything but more of the same with Obama or McCain.

Don’t let election 2008 be an excercise in futility, you still know in your hearts how to love America! Make the vision of a free country we hold so dear, a reality.

“There’s something exciting in the air,” Paul told a cheering audience about 10 miles from the official Republican convention, but a galaxy far far away from more of the same,. “A revolutionary spirit has erupted, and it will not be suppressed. We are involved in a historic event.” Dr.Paul, coming from the time and space of 1776, recently wrote a book “The Revolution: A Manifesto”). He formally kicked off his Campaign for Liberty with the motto: “The Revolution Continues.”

Thank you, Salim, for a very insightful essay.  However, the forty million slave descendants in the USA are victims of long-term U.S. government practices of ethnocide and forced assimilation.  Most media, including In These Times, have never addressed the roots of the problem nor the solutions proposed by the Reparations Movement.  Non-coverage of the numerous interventions made by Mr. Silis Muhammad of AFRE before the U.N. Human Rights Commission has kept most Americans in the dark about the stark fact that Afrodescendants still do not possess Human Rights and are actually kept in a state of “civil death.”  In order for us to survive as a people in the 21st century, we must be restored to our original language, religion and culture.  We must receive massive Reparations and re-gain the ability to govern ourselves in our own political economy.  Both Senator McCain and Senator Obama oppose Reparations for slave descendants.  And as the fall of America accelerates politically, economically and spiritually, the ruling class will expand its plans to bleed the middle class and crush the underclass, especially the long-suffering slave descendants in the rapidly decaying inner cities which have now devolved into “killing fields.”  If you would like to read or publish my latest essay, “Gaddafi, Rice And Reparations For Slave Descendants,” just email me.
    Sincerely,

The war on drugs has had a long history. In 1994, it was reported that the “War on Drugs” results in the incarceration of one million Americans each year. Of the related drug arrests, about 225,000 are for possession of cannabis, the fourth most common cause of arrest in the United States. While these statistics are indeed shocking there are many drug treatment procedures that are helping people in realizing the ill effects of drugs and hence stop their usage.
