I know whereof he speaks since I fainted on an airplane over Ft. Lauderdale and the airline had me admitted to the hospital. The bill came to over $17,000 but fortunately I had Medicare.
However, a friend of mine had to play Russian roulette with his health when he was found to have Prostate cancer and had to delay the surgery until he turned 65 and Medicare kicked in.
You could die outside the best hospital in the country if you don’t have health insurance.
