Pride Before the Fall

By Cynthia Moothart

It was a stunning show of hubris. An act so offensive it should have been unthinkable. Timed to cause the greatest pain and the deepest outrage. But then it was this president. And it did advance his standing among right-wing extremists. The recess appointment of Charles W. Pickering Sr. to the Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals is an attack on… return to article

I can’t believe that Bush and his administration keep doing all this stuff and getting away with it.  The main stream media does nothing to get the message out to the everyday people who need to know.  Thank you and a few others on the internet, for helping to keep us informed.

President Bush seems to be setting up his agenda’s publically and politically, snubbing his nose at our freedoms. I voted for Bush but the more I see and read and understand his agenda, the less I care for the guy. Looks like I am a Democrat Now!!!

Let’s get dubya and his fellow thugs out of Washington and into federal pens, by joining the effort to impeach this turkey and his fellow creeps; Big-oil Cheney, dumb-assed Rummy, Herr Asscroft of the USA-SS, and for god-sake, Karl Rove (aka Dubya)!

It is such a shame that this man has gotton away with everything all of his life, and now he has ruined this country, and it will take forever to get it back. So come november lets take our country back from all these war hawks, and send them back to Texas where they belong. We need honest people in the White House, and not these lying people, that have done so much damage. And i cant believe how so many people believe in them. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND SEE WHATS GOING ON. They sure didn’t have a hard time looking in Clintons affair, which did not kill anyone. This President started a War that was about WMD, but where are they, GOOD QUESTION????????????

great read! i am part of the under 30’s demographic. it would seem to me and my peers living outside the USA that the rest of the modern world considers george w. bush a bit of a joke

The mass media has little interest in covering this or any other news that damages members of a party who are relaxing media regulations. But watch in the coming months how quickly they get the knives out for the Democrats. The real crimes of W will continue to go unpunished, but you’ll see minor infractions by Kerry et al elevated to impeachment levels (again).

Media - the fourth branch of government, and controlled by the same party as the other three.

There is little need to further bash Bush and his decision to go to war with Iraq. The intelligence may have been flawed, but he took it in good faith, blame the CIA. The WMD’s are buried somewhere in the Iraqi desert under 30 feet of sand, and will stay there.  The media is ALWAYS liberal, and always will be. Read more articles on this and count how many give a Republican opinion. They’re fewer all the time. Clinton’s “moderates” were every bit as liberal as he was, and there was no outrage by the Democrats about the unfairness of the system. Why? they were getting appointments that they wanted. Now they Republicans get conservative appointments, and the Democrats are mad. Go cry somewhere else.

You know, Bob, the first time I heard the whole “liberal media” thing, I thought it was a joke.  The mainstream media have never been liberal, they’ve always been center-right and firmly in support of the status quo.

Here’s a little hint: does the stuff on “In These Times” (an honest-to-God liberal news source) show up on ABC, NBC, CBS, or CNN?  What facts do you have to back up your assertion?  I would direct you to fair.org for an in-depth and extensively reserached analysis of mainstream media bias; you’ll find that conservative commentators have handily outnumbered liberal ones, and get vastly more airtime, for more than ten years.

So what have you got, Bob?  Whre’s your proof that the media is “liberal”?
