Bullcrap! If Obama really wanted to change the power structure, he would have called out the corporates and militarists and called on his supporters to come out in the streets and demand change. If he told the american people that he wanted to stop funneling all our rescources into big breaks for the mega rich, and fighting wars for profits, and start using the money for anerican jobs and healthcare, the fight would be over in a week. In these times the people would respond en mass. Instead what we got from the “change agent” was treachery ,and asskissing to the same militarists and corporate thieves who have already destroyed the country. More war, less jobs, more money for wall street, more taxes for main street…...the list of outrages is endless. The apologists are working overtime to spin forcing millions of people to buy useless junk insurance from mafialike companies, into a big win for america and Obama. The whole effort is failing miserably, and accountability will come.

I disagree with the authors’ points. This administration hired the architects of the downfall of our economy as its main advisors. This administration has not once called into use the rightful ire and disgust with the bankers and the healthco folks that the public had and has, and has no intention of using that rightful ire to affect change upon the core of our corrupt government. The reason for that is that they, and the Democrats of this congress, do not get their money from the people. They get their money from corporations. It is corporations then that they choose to represent first. Great change could have been had, had the people woke up and purchased their own candidate. It takes millions of dollars to be elected. Whoever gives those millions is in charge.
That considered, it is not hard to see and understand what has happened in this first, and very disappointing, year of the Obama administraton.
This article seems so much like an apology. I hope that the people wake up and demand more than an apology.

Look it , all you complainers have seemed to have forgotten what has been going on in Amerika for the last 8 years , shit forget the last 8 , how about the last twenty ; or lets go back to the beginning of this whole fiasco in 1619 and the establishment of slavery…..
The point is that Amerika has never been the nation , that white folks think it is , much less what it can be and should be, which is a working man paradise….

Secondly , threats on the presidency have gone up 400 percent , sense Obama toke office…. 30 threats a day..How would either of you guys hold up under that nonsense ? ? ? If ol Buckfush got that many threats a day , him and Chain-ass , ie Cheney , would lock down the nation and declare a total police state , not that they haven’t done that anyway….Every nuckleheaded asshole this side of the moon has called in some kind of threat against the man….

Your blunt racism is unforgivable, sir. This is a decent and respectable forum. Racial hate and divisiness is un-warranted, un-kind, and un-called for.
Mr. Blackhorse, I am guessing that you think that you know my race. Assuming things about people that you know nothing of seems to show you as one who pre-supposes, or pre-judges.
I know nothing of your race, but I do know that prejudice is a bad thing and has made for incredible hardships for my and many other people’s ancestors. Prejudice like that which you are displaying here has made America a difficult place at times for my family and my people. We are making advances despite the incredible ignorance of those with racist issues and viewpoints. We shall overcome.
Since the election, my communities children have felt that the world is a better place now that a man like them is president, and that they, too, could be president. Mr. Obama was the first President that we actually celebrated. Period. You know nothing of what I would do if I were President for an hour or a day. I will tell you this, what I would do would have everything to do with peace and justice and nothing to do with hate.
I would like to invite you to read the article again and try to muster up a thoughtful, logical response supporting the points in the article that you agree with. Post it. As for ostentatiousness, I think that if you once again whip out your dictionary you will find that there is little question that it is you, rather than I, that writes ostentatiously. To the point of distraction. Sir, put another way, if you were a painter then it might do you well to limit your pallette, if you know what I mean. Too much ‘color’ is such a distraction from your subject, and I have the feeling that you could really ‘paint’ were it not for your pugnaciousness and your ostentaciousness.
Also, it is one thing to have a large vocabulary and quite another to use it correctly and effectively. Some people quite clearly have something to say, and it is important that everyone be heard. I would guess that they would be heard more readily if they did not attack people personally and if they used words over which they have full understanding and command. Sometimes the simpliest words can drive a point just as well as words that a person might be un-sure of.
I do not know if you have ‘a horse in the race’ concerning health care reform, jobs, or small business loan availability. My family has a horse or two in this race. Both of my sons are laid off from their once good jobs. My daughter and her husband will be closing shop soon and 23 people will be laid off, because the credit line that they had used for 17 years while growing their business has dried up. I have battled narcolepsy for four decades, and up until now I have been able to stay off of all forms of goverment assistance, but, due not to a change in my health requiring more care or medicine, but due to the rising cost of medicine and medical care, I will have to soon go onto Social Security and Medicare and the taxpayers will have to pony up to Healthco what I used to be able to cover myself. We are not running out of time around here Sir, we HAVE run out of time. We have no more time to wait. Plain and simple. So for you to queston my motives, and to be rude and insensitive and plain old ugly is a bit shocking. Perhaps you still have some time and money so your children are thriving and you are doing well, and I am truly glad for you if you do. Not so in my community. We need help down here. The kids here in a rough area with no jobs is a very bad thing. The people not seeking medical help and not being able to afford medicine is a bad, bad thing. We are out of time.
No one around here blames Mr. Obama for the mess. I thnk that you and I would agree that he did not cause the mess. You counsel patience. Circumstance for my community demands not patience, but action. Corporate money is delaying that action. If you look at Mr. Obama’s funding and the funding of congress you will see that the money is all corporate. They do not give over that money for nothing.
My main point is that action is not coming because the government does not work for the people, it works for the corporations. I am not losing patience waiting for Mr. Obama to do something. Far from it. Indeed, I do not believe that what I am waiting for is forthcoming from any branch of the current government, but rather that the changes will only come when ‘we the people’ own the candidate as the corporations do now. I will continue to fight in my community and I will continue to write on, and read up on, progressive issues, blogs, and discussions. I am out of the kind of patience that you and the author of the article counsel, so I will continue to write honestly and, hopefully, forcefully, for action NOW, without being hateful, rude, or personal. I won’t be scared off by rhetorical bullies, especially ones that write poorly.

As for your situation , I am truthfully saddened to hear of those problems…Blackhorse was born and raises in Washington, D. C. , although now I live in Maryland….My father passed suddenly 18 months ago , my mother who was legally blind ,and a cancer surviver , passed exactly 1 year and a week after my fathers death , from a brain tumor and my oldest cousin who was like a little sister to my father , and had a brillant career as a civilian managerial supervisor for the military , has been suffering from the early stages of dementia , and had to move into a nursing home recently ; her daughter , who has raised two brillant young daughters , by herself ; basically( both will receive college degrees ), has been dealing with MS for the last 20 years , and has been confined to a wheelchair for the last, say 15 years…I , sir am in good health and thankful for that fact….
The point is that the problems you face , are the problems everybody is facing….
The mayor of DC , Adrain Fenty is basically a jackass , who could careless about the citizens(especially young ,poor , so-called minority young ) , although he never misses a photo/op…DC , has no representation in Congress , the city has no representative in the Senate…..Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton , who is the official congressperson for the city , has no vote in congress , nor does DC’s, get this, shadow Senator , yes, that’s what they call the position ” shadow Senator ” , again , has no vote in the senate…I couldn’t ever tell you the individuals name, because you never , never see this person on any news programs…I , sir , grew up in a city that had , at the time what was called ” Home Rule “, all that met , is that the Congress of the US , decided what the budget for the city was ( they never gave the city the money to run the place properly ) and the mayor , at the time Marion Barry , had to ” make do”....The violence in ” the district or DC ” is a direct result of all this systematic abuse and neglect…
Point being , the government , will not , can not , and does not want to work for the people , point blank…If you want change , you have got to pick it up off the ground and put it in your pocket , for yourself ...You sir , have to be the vehicle for the change that you desire….
My view of politicians and gov’t is one of an individual , that is watching one of those tacky ass soap operas…You just can’t take anything these guys say seriously , regardless of how serious your personal situation is , because those that do care , can’t , and the rest , won’t… Just as plain as the nose on your face….
