Transfeminism: Let Her Rip

By Hanne Blank

It’s been in the New York Times, so it must be official: Transpeople are here in number and they’re here to stay. Transsexuals (those who medically change the hormonal and/or anatomical aspects of their biological sex) and transgendered people (those who change or redefine their gender that may not include any medical change) are, as illuminated in the March 7 Timesreturn to article

Chix with dix rock.  Feminists who can’t see that the future of sexuality and gender is mutable need to take off their blinders.  Or are they like any other vangaurd movement, fearing the day when their power and influence wanes?

This may be an uneducated comment, but it seems to me that feminism is, or should be, a movement that attempts to bring equality to humans of (previously “both”, now I suppose “all”) genders. Feminism should not be reverse sexism, a movement to benefit only women, and as such including trans women should not be a problem. Additionally, women of color should have the same rights, trans men should have the same rights, etc etc. This is a movement for equality.

I say she’s just a woman who loves ! I spoke of ” Stonewall ” and said that we must remember that Trans-Women started the ” Gay-Rights-Movement ” and included all Gays so who the ” F*** ” does anyone think they are to exclude the Transgendered ? Nah’nh Ahh’nh !! Sweetie ! You go sell that somewhere else !  We are all in this together, even as ’ Phil. S. Hoffman ’ say to the Gay Republicans in that Movie He did w/ ’ Bobby D. ’ ?; ” ‘When you get down and HHMMHHMM then you share the same responsibilities we all do ! “, or some ” S*** ” like that ! ; Well, ” Whoops ! Yes, yes yes! What is all this categorization? Isn’t it just the leading edge of discrimination? The question is not, “What group’s rights should we work to uphold?”, it is, “What shall we do to make sure everyone’s rights are upheld?” I think about it like this, admittedly a bit belligerent in tone: “Who the hell thinks they’ll get away with blocking my access to happiness, advancement, fulfillment, love, education, or employment? They must be looking for a fight!” (And of course they are, as anti-gay, anti-TG violence proves).

As a male lesbian, I read the article with some interest.
