Make Judicious Appointments

Democrats must make a campaign issue of Bush’s full-court attack on basic values, such as liberty and equal protection.

The most dangerous obscenity spewing from the seat of government of late is not the vulgar outburst of Dick Cheney, displacing onto Pat Leahy his pique at a national electorate numbering his days as veep. Instead it takes the form of an interoffice memorandum. Leaked nearly two years after its delivery to White House counsel Al Gonzalez, Jay Bybee’s August 2002… return to article

Wipe away all the superlative rhetoric in this article and you’re left with nothing more than the fact that liberals simply can’t allow ANYBODY that dares to agree with nearly half the population in opposing abortion to get anywhere near a lifetime appointment.  To even agree with three quarters of the population and support common sense measures like parental notification is taboo to these ideological bigots.

This combined with the fact that someone is open and unapologetic about their religious views reliably brings out the long knives of the left.

I wrote in response to Henderson’s article that people should very suspicious the next time the good reputation of an honorable decent person is so casually trashed based on cherry picking out of context statements instead of listening to the people who know them best.

If you oppose someone because you can’t imagine not being able to conveniently end the life that John Kerry now says he believes begins at conception, then have the courage to just say so.  Don’t smear a decent person as a racist, a women hater, or a religious nut because you don’t have the courage to let your true feelings be known.
