Joel, many thanks - keep on the trumpet. You would think that after 2000, this could never happen. But of course, truth is stranger than fiction. . .
Wake up progressives. And to the Nader supporters: Everything in this life is a choice. You can choose to throw your vote away and basically elect Bush like you did last time, or you can live in the real world.
Reality sometimes is unpleasant to look at, so some people prefer fantasy. It is false to think you can suddenly change the momentum of a trillion dollar-a-day economy and the cabal that runs it without some compromise and pragmatism. Democrats aren’t perfect, but look at the mess we’re in now. What if Gore had been President for 9-11?
You do a disservice to yourselves when you destroy any chance that exists for an alternative to 4 more years of Bush. And that’s just what your support for Nader means - ‘course if you don’t believe me you can ask Pat Buchanan.

The plutocracy has spoken it’s Kerry Vs Bush. John Kerry will continue the war in Iraq. George Bush will continue the war. What a choice. The anti-war movement seemed to bring some life to the Democrats, but the DLC types have won again.
Does anyone really believe John Kerry is genuine. Our last Democratic President was one of the best friends corporate America ever had. Nafta, MFN for China, mega-mergers and enormous fraud on Wall Street, all went on during Clinton

Mr. Mellon is right—everything is a choice.
Take the choices Kerry has made, lately. The article didn’t mention Kerry’s latest utterances—which have much more to do with the Nadar campaign than Republican money.
Kerry was the guy, remember, in the primaries, who regretted voting for the war. The guy who criticized Bush for lying us into it.
Lieberman, on the other hand, was the guy who was all for the war.
Remember how Lieberman was smashed even in Delaware?
But the same braindead DC Dem leaders have advised Kerry to mind meld with Lieberman, and apparently he has made this his choice.
I want to vote for Kerry. I want to vote for someone who clearly articluates an exit strategy from Iraq that doesn’t involve—a., slaughtering Iraqis, and b., keeping our troops there for the next two to four years.
I want to vote for someone who wants to lower the troop committment now. Who supports Iraqis taking over their own country—from making rules on the economy themselves, to having their own army, to making their own foreign policy. I want to vote for someone who realizes that enforcing America’s interest on another nation at the point of a gun is wrong, and misguided.
Kerry seems to want me to vote for Ralph Nadar. If I wanted to vote for more of the same, I can always vote for Bush.
