Interesting article. I don't know, maybe we're all Elizabeth Bennets, uncomfortably aware of the messier aspects of our own backgrounds. "Acting white" here seems more like "acting WASPy" -- or maybe just a sort of . . . where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking and all the children are above-average.
