    The American people who voted for this disgraceful man are to blame. They chose to believe lies any thinking person would have rejected. Then they kept on believing them, voting him in again, even if in disputed numbers. They wanted the revenge bush fed. Their obsessive, irrational fears left our country a mockery of democracy.

    Come on, even if bush got in by the skin of his teeth or even if the whole thing was rigged both times, way too many americans still voted for the guy. It wasn't that long ago that 69% of the country still believed Saddam was responsible for 911. I'm telling you people wanted revenge, bush fed their hatred and paranoia, and still does. The country has been slowly going insane under this president and still he maintains huge numbers of supporters, people who are just fine with Rove and Gonzalez and Cheney. What are they thinking?

    I have been a fan of Susan Douglas for some time. Her articles are always insightful and right on target. I am currently on a one-person boycott of CNN. Infuriated by the inane comments of Glen Beck and his obvious bias against Democrats and others who don't completely agree with him; put off by Solidad O'Brian's often snooty interviews; and finally, just plain exhausted by the Anna Nicole Smith obsession, I said, no more.     Wow. Excellent piece. Somehow not nearly enough of us in this country are willing to take a very long and serious look at ourselves and see what the hell we have become. It's not a pretty sight.
