It's ironic that Megan Tady should grouse about "astroturf" groups, when in fact she works for one herself. "Free Press," a DC lobbying group, carries water for Google -- a large, monopolistic corporation -- and is lobbying to have the Internet regulated in ways that would benefit Google and prevent new companies from being able to compete with it. The so-called "Internet Freedom Preservation Act" would do just this. In particular, the bill would prevent a newcomer from buying services that would accelerate delivery of its content to consumers. It thus would prevent newcomers from being able to deliver their data …

The increase in population in the US is a direct result of Immigration. The US would have a significantly lower population if were not for Immigration legal and illegal. If anything white Americans need to have more children just to compensate for the third world invasion we have witnessed. The same goes for Europe.

Charter schools are great for disadvantaged students. The teachers unions are already fucking up too much of the educational system. Can they please not rape this too?

If you want to build transit that people will prefer to take over cars, build Personal Rapid Transit and Group Rapid Transit.

Some "war". If you're actually trying to persuade anybody, you might be a tiny bit more circumspect with that word when you're talking about a hero who knows, as you never will, what war is. And some "sexist". So he didn't sign on to every little jot and tittle of the far left social agenda. Good. And like most rational and decent people of both sexes, he's pro-life. That hardly makes him a sexist. Pretty small beer, sweetie. P.S. A little fact-checking wouldn't hurt you. Trader Jon's, a world-famous institution, was not a strip club or anything of the sort. And …

"Losing 32 a day is our national shame and everyone who does not work to stop the violence is responsible. Everyone." Bull. The people responsible are the people pulling the trigger. Here's a quick newsflash: Criminals don't obey gun laws, so passing more of them isn't going to help. It makes things worse, because it allows the criminals to commit crimes with impunity.

Since the vast majority of 'gun violence' victims are African American Maybe we should pass laws restricting gun ownership by blacks. They won't object-right? it's what they want, so the legislation should be easy to pass- no blacks would complain or protest would they? No blacks will be allowed any firearm at all-period. That way us rural/suburban white guys can live our lives and keep and shoot our guns and not be worried about the infringement of our God given rights, and the violence will decrease in the city. The original gun control laws were designed just for this, maybe they …

Uh, I don't think you can insult a Canadian by calling him 'Dudley'- Maybe 'Hoser' or something like that. Anyway- can't your argument (major) be made for any number of machines and objects that most people use every day, cars-baseball bats-hammers- steak knives (I heard some guy in New York City was killed with a steak knife- but you wouldn't know anything about that, would you) My handgun is the best method of protecting my family and me in the event of a potentially deadly imminent physical attack. (Sometimes -they don't just want your money) The overwhelmingly vast majority of gun …

I think it it the way these names are used. The mascot name "Savages" is obviously a bad name to name a team, but if the mascot is named "Braves" that is an ode. I'm a student at the University of Idaho and we're the Vandals. There aren't any Vandal descendants up in arms about the mascot name because it is fairly represented. The mascot names that are a tribe name, if fairly represented, is not a bad mascot name. It is all in how the mascot is represented.

About Corporations: it's true, not all corporations are inherently evil, but one thing many have in common is the bottom line of profit. I recently saw the documentary called "the corporation," and it was really informative. I recommend that everyone see it. Check out this page http://www.thecorporation.com/about/ to see what I mean.

Have to disagree with you there. The world has become increasingly more wealthy, peaceful, and educated with every generation. It may not seem like that much has changed in 80 years, but it really has. Building the perfect world for the human race, a people who are at once violently casting aside the shackles of nature while simultaneously clinging to it for dear life, is going to be our greatest feat ever. We know better now how corrupt our governments, peoples, and companies are. Only now can we begin to change them.
