I'm using this vehicle to express my deep gratitude to Mr. Vidal. His collection of essays have put a mighty wind in my sails, many times when the whether was dank and cold and I couldn't see the shore. Ok, enough, already. I do hope GV reads this, soaks up some of the good stuff laying out and about in the hinterlands -- it's here, all right. Just scrape off the mold. THERE!
