I live in Massachusetts and the right for my gay friends to marry is still very important and many people, not just those directly affected, still care very deeply about that right. Sorry Lefty, I have to disagree here. As a Democracy, we vote for a government that represents us as a country and a body politic. If our government, or a fraction thereof, has deprived a citizen of the right to vote (or to speak/worship/etc) then we as a populace are complicit. If we don't approve of this, as a collective culture, then we remove the government (or fraction of it) that has offended and replace it with one we approve of.
