    It was interesting to read the comment that Wallace Stevens supposedly made in 1959 -- he died in 1955! Also, it's news to me that "The Emperor of Ice-Cream" was written in the 30's. The poem appears in Stevens' first book, "Harmonium", published in 1923. There's all kinds of nonsense out there, eh?
