  If you are so scared of the "unitary executive" from the Supreme Court why are the Democrats so coward in using the filibuster? They easily have the 41 plus votes to stop a cloture. Instead, they are braying like whimps from the sidelines. Then they pander and ponificate and say they're afraid of the "nuclear option". Real reason - they know how a filibuster would play out, and they know that the strong majority of Americans support Alito's nomination at this point.   I think capital punishment is wrong and would vote to overturn it. I also think Tookie should have lived out his pathetic embarrassment of a life in that dungeon in anonymity for brutally murdering 4 innocent people (and he wasn't even a man enough to admit that he did it - as the courts have proved over, and over, and over again).   Nuclear power is the only practical way to reduce increasingly higher rates of greehouse emissions. No wonder one of the founders of Greenpeace is such a staunch supporter of it. Good call with the impeachment thing Brian. We'll keep our eye on that one. Good luck - believe me, the Dems can't look like buffoons all the time. Something is going to stick! Hopefully!   Unbelievable. A Democrat who finally understands some basic issues! Great article Flavia - but I'm sorry, not sure what the Dems are possibly going to be able to do with it. Remember the line about "herding cats"? By the way, Biden putting on a Princeton hat - priceless. And he's a Dem front runner for '08?! Troubled waters ahead if the party can't even figure out to competently question a judge with 3 months warning.
