I think the facts are wrong in this article. As someone who lives in NYC (and relies on public transportation to work everyday) I can tell you that the strike completely disrupted my life and practically everyone else's life in this city. I don't know of anyone who was in "solidarity" with the strikers. I ended up having to walk about 20 miles everyday the strike was on, and I am too poor to afford a taxi cab or a car.
