Open records have always been a mainstay of the freedoms and responsibilities of citizens of this country. Once we lose our rights to open records, they will never be returned to us. One example of how taking away our rights to open records will hurt us - I am working on a probate case trying to identify "missing" family members who are entitled to an inheritance from a distant relative.
