This is what I know... As a child growing up here in St. Louis 30 - 40 years ago, we had a winter. We walked to school through the snow, we played hockey on frozen ponds till it was dark. There was snow on the ground for months on end, The ponds and creeks were frozen for months, I'm talking good solid ice.
