  The campaigns are very corrupt but I don't see govt financing as the panacea either. Can see free speech issues arising here and also it takes an enormous amount of money to defeat an incumbent. Webb's great victory over Allen in neighboring Virginia would not have been possible without tons of money. His ads were seen at the time here in Maryland because he bought time on the DC stations.

  Whattheheck, thanks for your comments. I have to agree with blondemike that you are far and away one of the most intelligent posters here. A refreshing contrast to the leftist dim bulbs who spout the same old, same old under multiple names. We had Sarbanes here in Maryland who used Enron to put forth more draconian anti- business legislation. I am spacing on his replacement but I'm sure it's another lefty. Baltimore County is blue collar Reagan Dems but the city is 80% black and votes robotically. Then Montgomery next to DC is home to govt workers and PG next door …

  Israel is the leading terrorist state in the Middle East and Arab terrorism is in reaction to theirs. Israel occupied the south of Lebanon repeatedly BEFORE Hezbollah was created in the 80s AS A REACTION TO ISRAELI OCCUPATION. At the time they were not even particularly pro-Palestinian but became very anti-Israel solely in reaction to Israel's Occupation. Texas Independent is a racist and has posted under Natalie, Wicky Woo, Scorp, Wolf and Aunty Fascist as well as Aunty Rightty. Ignore him.
