Even if Lott and the other researchers were wrong about crime being reduced in states where gun control was more liberal like easier total access to carry permits in "shall issue" states, and even if there is no reasonable evidence that states with less restrictive gun control laws have less violent crime because of the laws, there is one thing that we ALL have to recognize. Washington has 0% of civillian households with a handgun and an estimated less than 1% of people with a shotgun or rifle permit.
