  How sad. You have written (like most other media outlets) a poorly researched, one-sided, anti-adoption piece.You have jumped on the media bandwagon of bashing International adoption. Is there no such thing as balanced, well-researched, truthful journalism any more?   Maria, I know which hotel you speak of and yes it is legal for adopting parents to visit and pick up the children that they have chosen to love and cherish as their very own. The mothers you see "walking away in tears" are the foster mothers that have taken care of the children during the adoption process. I think it is fair to say that they also love these children. The children are not "sold as if they are pets" as you say. I wish the Guatemalan government did help the birth mothers to raise the children they bring into …
