We have some exciting news.
Last fall, In These Times Associate Editor Jacob Wheeler published a news article in our pages about the efforts of the Salvadoran government to mimic the USA Patriot Act by criminalizing free speech and prosecuting peaceful protesters as terrorists. We recently learned that Project Censored a nonprofit that highlights underreported stories selected Jacobs piece as one of 25 finalists (out of hundreds of entries) for its Most Censored News Stories of 2007-08 book.
Roughly 70% of our funding comes from small donations from readers like you. Thanks to our community of donors, Jacob was able to report on this important story.
Please help us continue producing news stories the mainstream media wont touch by making a gift today.
More and more of our subscribers recognize that In These Times is one of the most courageous voices for progressive change. We need your support in order to bring more ignored stories like Jacobs to your mailbox.
Please give today. Any amount will make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
In Solidarity,
Joel Bleifuss
