There is enough fiction in newspapers and TV newscasters โ€” who needs more?

Take the report last week that Bear Stearns was worth $80 a share.

The Obama evaluation that Wright’s revolution encouraging, anti-white guys sermons are outweighed by his “good works” (for the black community only).

And the on-going serial, “The Economy is Good.”

Laughs, anger and one which will have an O’Henry ending. (Or perhaps Edgar Allen Poe)

    hey wth,

how you doing? i couldn’t agree more with your observations - except the wright comment. you have obviously been influenced by the repeated loops on your tv and lou dobbs type-talking heads. these looped edits and commentary were provided by the same fascist media you realize is lying to you. i found nothing in the full context of his sermons (i’ve seen two - try utube) that was actually offensive or wasn’t true from one tribe’s point of view.

the real problem is all the tribal fingerpointing going on in the name of righteousness. I re-read some aldous huxley and gerald heard last year to refocus on the fact that we are all in this together and are brothers and sisters of a far greater tribe…and more than toleration or acceptance, we need to appreciate and assimilate what’s good and beneficial from each other. ah, the possibilities ... oh, another good title: the gift unopened, eleanor stark

    Hi Hourglass,
“...these looped edits and commentary were provided by the same fascist media you realize is lying to you.”

Are you saying that the videos we saw have been doctored?  If so, did they add words to change the meaning or remove something which would have made them less offensive?

I understand what Obama said about Wright’s experiences which formed his opinion, but still find it disturbing that a prospective president switched the topic to avoid explaining why he maintained membership there. IMO to call this Black Theology is a dodge for what in fact a political or social ideology.

I am all the more bothered by Obama’s acceptance of such rebellious diatribe due to effect of Bush’s religious beliefs on the last eight years in America.

Give me an honest atheist or agnostic and leave out all the divine guidance.

A Brave New World — boy was he a prophet or what?  I re- read it about two years ago — also Return to Brave New World where he seemed also amazed at how mush had happened in only a couple decades.

His turned out not to be fiction after all.

IMO to call this Black Theology is a dodge for what in fact is a political or social ideology. A visit to the church’s website indicates only an interest in black issues and a complete disregard for any attempt at racial unification.
