It is incomprehensible to me that the American Public got suckered into voting for this pinhead who cannot even pronounce such a simple word as ‘nuclear’.  Wasn’t that an early warning sign?
PS - Pronunciation guide: new + clear = nuclear.  Could it be any easier?  Apparently not for this Head of State and leader of the ‘Free World’.  I despair!

    Great polling!

You left out when did you stop beating your wife?

“I do solemly swear ...” is an obvious choice, except that he’s a man of such minimal abilities in the first place that I believe he actually has performed (quite miserably) to the best of those meager abilities.

It’s funny how nowadays it seems that nobody voted for Bush!

United States Posted by trippin on Mar 26, 2007 at 7:58 AM

All other choices here (including the ones listed) are trickle-down possibilities from the original lie from January 2001. I sure wish we could hit the FF button and get this clown out of the way!

Those of us not living in “The Land Of The Free” didn’t have a chance to vote for or against Shrub (an insignificant form of bush) but we all suffer from his lies.

But he really has done the job “to the best of [his] ability”. The fact that his “best” is so lame is another question.

Until such time as American voters become less parochial and start paying attention to what’s going on in the world, both inside and outside the USA, you’re bound to repeat this tragicomedy.
    Nominating him was lunacy.
Voting him in once was inexcusable.
    Doing it twice was incomprehensible.

Mistywindows pretty well nailed it. ‘Cept in ‘04, it were the magic voting machines that assisted his ‘election’.
That was when he won with 52% of vote, then 3 days later, only 48% approved of him.

Seriously, when are the war crimes trials going to begin? This is ridiculous.

The American people who voted for this disgraceful man are to blame.  They chose to believe lies any thinking person would have rejected.  Then they kept on believing them, voting him in again, even if in disputed numbers.  They wanted the revenge bush fed.  Their obsessive, irrational fears left our country a mockery of democracy.

United States Posted by tem2007 on Apr 5, 2007 at 10:14 AM

Just to be clear, mistywindow and others, the American people did not vote Bush in once, and they did not vote him in a second time.
The first time he was appointed by the Supreme Court.
The second time he was appointed by Diebold.

Come on, even if bush got in by the skin of his teeth or even if the whole thing was rigged both times, way too many americans still voted for the guy.  It wasn’t that long ago that 69% of the country still believed Saddam was responsible for 911.  I’m telling you people wanted revenge, bush fed their hatred and paranoia, and still does.  The country has been slowly going insane under this president and still he maintains huge numbers of supporters, people who are just fine with Rove and Gonzalez and Cheney.  What are they thinking?

United States Posted by tem2007 on Apr 5, 2007 at 5:08 PM

I can’t call 35% a huge number of supporters, but he has far too many fooled. Sadly, the ones he has fooled are ones who will vote. Like one learned individual in my town, who said he would vote for Micky Mouse, if he ran on the Republican ticket.
What are they thinking? They aren’t really thinking. And that is the problem. There is too much money available for politicians and they use that money to lie about their opponent.
Voters are turned off by all the attack ads and don’t pay attention to the issues at hand.
Who would have thought that anyone who had never accomplished anything could be elected (or appointed) President running on banning gay marriages?

No offense, but I think you are giving the American voter too much credit for being informed. I am happy to say my State (Washington) did not elect him either time. It required a major effort to defeat the traditional conservatives and the religious right. There are far too many areas in America where they have a ‘death grip’. There is no secret about this.

I have traveled extensively and lived abroad for several years. Compared to the rest of the world, Americans, as a whole, are the least educated about world events.
