Some years back I was a Democratic Party precinct chair. I became disillusioned with the Clinton Administration after the passage of NAFTA. I realized then that the Democratic Party was NOT the party of the working class!
The so called healthcare reform currently being discussed is a farce! The democrats are not only timid, they are basically bought off by the HMO and other healthcare corporations! Even John Conyers the author of Medicare For All voted for the garbage that is passing for “reform” from the House. Dennis Kucinich much to his credit refused to votre for it.
Barack Obama campaigned on a lot of promises for change. Almost a year later, I have yet to see anything passed that is beneficial for the people of the U.S. The illegal, unjustified wars in Afghanistan and Iraq continue, Bush, et al continue to NOT be held accountable for their crimes. Passage of a much needed and real labor law legislation remains questionable. Passage of real healthcare reform is not going to occur and not much is being done to put American workers back on a job. It appears to me Obama is a one term wonder and that does not have to be. However the choice is his.
